Big Bowls Weekend
Bowls’ Big Weekend is an annual national event, designed to introduce more people to the sport of bowls. The National event takes place over May bank holiday weekend (23-26 May), during which bowls clubs across the country open their doors to the public, offering free taster sessions, to get more people playing our sport. It’s a fun, inclusive event that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to try the sport in a friendly, supportive environment. The initiative aims to promote bowls as a modern, accessible activity that brings communities together while encouraging new members to join local clubs.
Mayfield Park Bowling Club will be in conjunction with Bowls England be holding our “Bowls Big Weekend Event” on Saturday 24th May from 11:00 – 15:00.
If you have every wanted to try Lawn Bowls then this is a perfect opportunity for you to have a go. Our members will be on-hand to show you how, offer advice and answer your questions. Even if you don’t want to play you are welcome to pop in and have a look around, we may also be able to rustle up a cup of tea or coffee.

If you do decide to give our sport a try, then please bring with you a pair of flat soled shoes which will help protect our playing surface, we will supply any equipment you need. Our members will be on-hand to offer advice and introduce you to lawn bowling.
